Welcome to Open Access Week 2013 at Texas A&M University!

Open Access Week in Aggieland will take place October 21 - 27, 2013 as part of the worldwide Open Access celebration.
The theme of this year's event is "The Libraries holds the key to Open Access publishing..."
What you can do to promote Open Access:
Deposit your manuscripts into OAK Trust (Texas A&M Open Access Digital Repository)
Apply for Texas A&M’s OAK Fund to support Open Access publishing at Texas A&M
Select an open access journal use the Directory of Open Access Journals to find a title in your field and check on OA policies, OR contact the Office of Scholarly Communications for advice

October 21
PCL 1.124, UT Austin 12 - 1:30 pm David Carlson, Dean of Texas A&M University Libraries, will speak about several OA topics including scholarly communications support at the TAMU Libraries, electronic theses and dissertations, the Open Access to Knowledge (OAK) Fund, and others.
Wednesday
October 23
Medical Sciences Library Lobby 3 - 5 pm Open Access table with materials and giveaways from Open Access Publishers as well as information on open access initiatives, fair use, author’s rights, copyright, and institutional repositories etc.

Thursday
October 24
Cushing Memorial Library and Archives 4 - 6 pm Wine reception honoring this year’s new faculty. Guests will have a chance to mingle with Libraries faculty to learn more about open access publishing, as well as services the Libraries provide for all faculty members. Hot hors d’oeuvres, wine and non-alcoholic drinks will be served.  Please RSVP by October 18th to pzinn@library.tamu.edu.
